We were honored to welcome colleagues from the El Dorado School District to Southwest Junior High for an instructional observation focused on best practices for meaningfully supporting and including students here at Southwest. Thank you to Melissa Tucker, Assistant Superintendent, and Lori Wilox, teacher, for spending time learning alongside our Southwest team, and a special thank-you to Carolett Cooperstein for opening her classroom and sharing her expertise. We appreciate opportunities like these that allow educators to learn from one another, celebrate effective practices, and strengthen our collective commitment to ensuring every student has meaningful access to learning. Please help us welcome our new school social worker, Verenice Anguiano! 💙🧡 Hi Southwest Jr. High family! My name is Verenice Anguiano, and I’m thrilled to join the team as your new school social worker. This will be my 6th year as a social worker with Springdale Schools, and I’m so excited to continue supporting our students, families, and staff. My goal is always to ensure every student feels supported, heard, and equipped with the tools to succeed both socially and academically. Outside of work, you can usually find me reading, camping, and spending time with my family. I look forward to an amazing school year together!

📣 SWJH Chromebook Pick-Up Event!💻🧡💙

Southwest Junior High students and families, it’s time to get ready for the school year! Our Chromebook Pick-Up event will be held on:

📅 Friday, August 7
⏰ 9:30 AM–12:00 PM and 1:30 PM–3:30 PM

Before arriving, please make sure the following items are completed:

✅ Technology Acceptable Use Agreement has been completed
✅ All outstanding Chromebook fees have been paid

Students who have not completed the Technology Acceptable Use Agreement or who have outstanding Chromebook fees will not be able to pick up their Chromebook until those requirements have been met.

Thank you for helping us make the Chromebook distribution process quick and smooth for everyone! We look forward to seeing our Cougars and getting everyone prepared for a great school year. 🧡💙
